     John Michael Tate, DDS

John Michael Tate, DDS, a native of Southlake and Valedictorian of his Carroll High School class, earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with honors from Baylor College of Dentistry.  After graduation, he established his practice serving Southlake, Grapevine and the surrounding Northeast Tarrant County communities, while serving as Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry.  Dr. Tate has postgraduate training in complex restorative dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and dental implants.  In addition to all phases of preventive and restorative dentistry, Dr. Tate offers both clear aligner orthodontics (Invisalign, Clear Correct) and traditional orthodontics.

While committed to providing the very best care for his patients, Dr. Tate continues his training through many avenues including C.A.R.D. (Center for Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry) where he is on the teaching faculty.  He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, the Odontological Honor Society, Dallas and Tarrant County Dental Societies,

American Orthodontic Society, and long time member of the Texas Dental Association and American Dental Association.

Dr. Tate is a fourth generation native to the Southlake-Grapevine area and proudly says he is practically kin to the dirt.  He loves this community and the people.  He is married with four grown children and four grandchildren.  He and his wife Sue count it a blessing to have most of their family still living close to home.  Their youngest and only daughter is still living in Oklahoma where her husband is finishing college.  While Sue and Dr. Tate enjoy both their own family and church family, they also enjoy traveling and getting away from routine when the opportunity arises.

Dr. Tate is honored to have had his son, Dr. John Tyler Tate, join him in practice in 2011.  He counts it a gift to have such an outstanding young man join him in what they both love to do (care for patients).  Dr. Tate says of his son, “he has great hands and a caring heart and is a great asset to the Practice and to the community.”
